Workshop #8: Why Some Smart People Struggle with Reading -The Science of Dyslexia

Bob Almack has 36 years teaching experience, and has been teaching learning disabled students to read using Orton-Gillingham based software since 1993. The workshop discusses the phonemic, phonological and decoding exercises that wire the reading centres in the left side of the brain. Clues to dyslexia and the myths and misconceptions of reading disabilities (dyslexia) as well as the upside of dyslexia will be discussed.
